早安你好！ Will post some nonsense from my snapchat I took yesterday.
Today's plan is to roam around Hongdae and anywhere near because I fell asleep last night and didn't manage to do up my itinerary. I have a rough itinerary la, I did it 1-2 weeks ago but it's not proper.
Anyway it's cold here!! We were at Myeong Dong last night and everyone was in coat/blazer/sweater. Luckily I brought a parka. Last night it was 10degrees.
It's also quite cold now, I hope the sun will help later!
By the time we got back to our apartment last time, there were people wearing windbreakers liao hahah and my teeth were chattering the whole time. Luckily got Fat Roy to save me with his fats.
When we just arrived last night, changed out and headed to Myeong Dong~~
Mirror #ootd of the day haha. I love Korea la everything take already is so white white and nice 😁😁
Our first station today is at Gyeongbokgung Palace. Roy was famished because we didn't have breakfast and couldn't find any place to eat near our Airbnb. So we took the train to the palace first (Roy's decision). By the time we reached, he was a grumpy man!!!!
We wandered out of the palace and found a small korean restaurant ran by 3 ahjummas.
I ordered Spicy Tofu Stew and Roy had some marinated Pork w rice. Food was good! 😋
Okay we are heading back to the palace now!! Update later!
Lucky us got to catch the changing of guard parade right after our lunch!
I love the colours of their traditional uniform!!
The guards were the main photo attraction at the palace hahaha. Many tourists were waiting to take photos with them.
The lady's pose though 👈👈
And of course I need to take one with the guard too. I like the guard the most because he's grumpy looking and round lol.
The admission ticket was KRW3000. We went for the free English tour with several other tourists & spent an hour plus walking around the place.
We visited the King's administration office, banquet hall and living quarters. This was the room where he eats, I think!
The ceiling were intricately painted with natural dye pigments that can last more than 20 years.
Gyeongbokgung palace was the palace by the Joseon Dynasty. It was destroyed twice, by the Japanese and I think Japanese again? I can't RMB what the tour guide said so please don't trust me entirely haha. Anyway they tried to restore the entire place. Currently, only 25% of the palace is restored. By 2030, 75% will be restored.
After Gyeongbokgung, we took the train to Anguk. Our place of attraction was Insadong👐
We were walking about the cultural streets and enjoying the atmosphere when we chanced upon Osulloc! The exterior was v enticing so we walked in.
Things we ordered:
🌿 Green Tea roll with Green Tea cream *must try!*
🌿 Green Tea (hot) - tasted like a normal green tea for me. I love green tea so~~~
🌿 Green Tea Soft Serve Ice Cream 🍦
Actually we were v bloated from our lunch earlier but the hot green tea seemed to calm our stomachs down!!
Very bad eye bags because we slept late and it's already 3-4am here now I HAVEN'T SLEPT FML. Gonna die again tmrw!!
Ssamzigil Ssamshigil? Can't rmb but this was the shopping mall that had no escalators and all the floors were connected by continuos slopes. Cool idea. Think there is one like this in BKK too!
We didn't "lock" our love with this plastic tag because it's not eco friendly HAHAHA
Randomly saw this dumpling shop hidden in a small alley and there was a queue. So we went to try it out.
Initially, we wanted to order only one plate of food to share but it was not allowed. 😵😪 So we ordered a plate of Combination Dumpling & Cold Noodles.
The shop was very squeezy, I had troubles trying to get on my seat without invading other ppl's personal spaces.
This was the Cold Noodles KRW6500. We had to cut the noodles first with the scissors provided on the table (to be shared by everyone). The noodles texture were like thick vermicelli but more slimy and harder to chew.
The night came and we were debating if we should go to Dong Dae Mun or Hongdae because we didn't manage to visit Ewha today so would be troublesome to travel to Hongdae again another day. They are near each other.
Anyway we ended up at Hongdae la because Roy kept wanting to go there 😒
Bought a pair of contacts to try!! It's only KRW15000 (SGD19) for a pair that can be used for 3 months. They even threw in a bottle of contact solution and casing wtf??!!! I thought there weren't gonna be any freebies because I bought the cheapest item in the whole store.
