So the other day when I posted my bunny card I was gonna share something else also... But being the forgetful me, I actually thought I was done with posting after I shared the video. LOL got so blur or not?
So as I was looking at my camera roll today I realized I missed out the second part. Hahaha. Win! Too tired!
Personalize your own envelopes with... washi tapes!
Using these tapes today.
I grabbed these colors the other day to roll out some samples and I thought the colors looked too pretty together. I should use it on something right?
Where are these tapes from? Hmmm all over the place actually, they don't come in a set or collection. In fact, each tape is from a different company. But somehow I just like how sweet it looks together.
Pastel/rainbow anything. It will be awesome. Who's with me? 🙋
For this envelope, I also used my trusty envelope punch board.
This is really a great tool to have because, you can customize envelopes for many different sizes of cards and the best thing is you can use your pretty colored patterned paper to make many personalized envelopes.
I used a plain white card stock because I was gonna use a few rolls of washi tapes to make my own envelope!
I had a standard card size (1/4 of an A4 sheet) so I measured how big the paper needs to be, punch then score!
This punch is from We R Memory keepers! It punches the corners and allows you to score the lines where the envelope should fold.
I love it so much cos I've been making my own envelopes ever since I got this punch board and I love it when the envelope and the card matches!
🔸 Tape everything accordingly. I did it in a specific sequence. And I wanted the washi tapes to go vertically on the front.
This is how it looks! And also, as it was my first time washi-ing the whole envelope. I was too engrossed with the front and didn't realize how the back flaps might be confusing with this design...
Close up of the washi tape patterns 😍😍😍
This is how the reverse looks like. You can see the score lines more clearly in this picture.
🔸 Use a pair of scissors to trim of the edges.
Love how it looks so "cleaned up" now.
Here's the finished envelope.
About the side flaps of the envelope, I didn't take a photo of it but being really OCD, it did bug me a little that the washi on the side flaps didn't align color by color with the top and bottom flap of the envelope.
That's was because each tape on the paper was on a single strip, from the top to the bottom. The diff flaps were done according to the color sequence so the left and right were a little off. But no biggie, I still love how the front looks.
The washi tape also made the envelope a little sturdier! I love it! The colors are so sweet and instantly brightens up my day hehe.
You can do this with any envelope, even ready made ones! You don't have to cover the whole piece like I did, you can even use the washi patterns to design and personalize your own envelopes! 💖
How do you like this washi tape DIY idea? I will try to post more of these DIY projects so maybe...I can excuse myself from hoarding all these tapes hehe
Off to run some errands and do some work before tomorrow... I CAN'T WAIT... 🇯🇵☺
