Last week, papa Eng came to my house to fix a shelf that I destroyed. Lol.
(I destroyed the plastics coloured in orange)
Even though I told him the walls had been drilled, he brought a drill anyway.
(He upgraded sia. We used to have a BIGGER drill, passed down from late Grandpa) This handheld Bosch drill looks v expensive. 🙄😤
A drill is actually very useful for the household btw. I would love to inherit this drill of his, but I don’t have the skills. 😂😂
Later, he realised the person didn’t do a good job with the drilled hole.
It was slanted. 😭
So Papa Eng suggested to drill another hole. Rofl.
👨🏻🦳 Your analism won’t pass this. Let’s drill another hole. It will be covered by the shelf anyway. 😂
I am very amused at how Papa Eng did it.
He secured the bubble leveler on top of a ruler with scotch tape. LMAO.
The paper holder is a life hack by Papa Eng.
Most of the dust generated will be collected in the paper holder, instead of the floor, or all over the place.
But I am one level up.
I decided to use a vacuum cleaner. I placed it beside the pending to be drilled hole.
XX switched on R2D2 (our delphin) to the maximum suction. I honestly didn’t see ANY dust flying out. Lol.
Good job, R2D2!
And then you knock the plastic into the drilled hole.
I have a hammer at home alright! Papa Eng gave it to me. Haha.
And then you must use penknife to cut the excess away. LOL!!!
I didn’t know about that.
I thought I did sth wrong when I saw the excess plastic.
So I took the entire thing out and spoil it. LMAO.
And then, you put the nail in the shelf.
Subsequently, align it to the plastic you placed in the wall earlier.
And then you hammer the nail into the wall/shelf!
Tighten it with a screwdriver.
Viola! And it’s done.
And because I got two holes, Papa Eng “closed” the other hole with epoxy glue.
He gave me a set previously, cause the ☁️ fall out from the shelf during delivery. (JOKE OF THE DAY SIA)
But I have since fixed it. The cloud is currently floating! HAHAH.
Epoxy glue is the strongest glue. Haha. Papa Eng always use it for his bicycle parts.
Previously, my rack came like this.
The cloud literally fell from the sky. LOL.
But hor, my rack is still 2mm slanted.
Not that I cared.
HOORAY MY CLOUD RACK IS UP!
I bought a woody 🐻 clock to fit into my woodland theme ok.
I am gg to hang it tonight!
My eldest brother is a changed man.
I think I bought a lot of clothes for 👧🏻 alr.
7 NB bodysuit.
2 NB long sleeves.
2 0-3 mths long sleeves.
5 0-3 mths short sleeves bodysuits.
A colleague told me I didn’t prepare enough. What if my 👧🏻 vomits all day long. 😂😭😢
SO I WENT TO BUY MOREEEEEEEEE. 😂
(But some said I OVERBUY alr)
Lol. I only need 2-3 sets a day.
Then I realise I need to prepare clothes for my MIL too.
And then lazy auntieeng don’t want to do laundry everyday.
So I sent a SOS to my big brother.
You see, beggars aren’t choosers. 😂
I told him that 👧🏻 can wear her fellow cousin’s clothes. LOL.
But my elder brother felt uncomfortable at the thought of 👧🏻 wearing boy’s clothes.
“What if other ppl says she is a boy!!! LOL.”
So he did something that shocked me.
He went to ask his friends for girl’s hand me down.
I am so touched.
My elder brother is a man of FEW words.
I certainly didn’t expect him to get hand me downs FROM HIS FRIEND.
Hooray to more clothes, so that I don’t have to do laundry everyday.
I am the lazy auntieeng ok.
XX always help me with laundry.
He will also keep and fold the laundry for me.
I just need to iron my own clothes.
He will probably continue to do it when 👧🏻 is here. But who got time to do it EVERYDAY sia.
Why are we so hard on ourselves?
Xx says, if a dress of mine cost $40, and I buy it without thinking much, it doesn’t make sense to be “anal” and hard on ourselves on baby clothes.
I questioned myself if each dress of mine was washed and worn at least 5 times. (To reduce the cost per wear. Say $8 each time we wear it)
(I used to buy and sell a lot of clothes)
That said, I still have a lot of clothes that I don’t even wear for 5 times. 😂😂😂 I may just discard it to the “donation pile” cause I don’t like it anymore.
It just human to keep going back to the same old boring clothes.
A baby suit is $3-5?
Yes, baby outgrow them VERY FAST. They don’t wear it for long.
But it does appear that, it’s also worn MANY times. Confirm got 5 times. 😂😂😂😂
Cost per wear $1.
So yes, why are we so hard on ourselves?!
I think we burn MORE money buying clothes for ourselves actually. Hahaha.
Do you wear your dress 40 times to reduce the cost per wear to $1?
So why are we keep harping on the cost of baby clothes?
Of course, one needs to strike a balance la. No one ask you to buy many many many NB/baby outfits.
It’s just that, we appeared to be very hard on ourselves and questioned our baby clothes purchases.
I used to roll the baby wears and put them into nylon baskets.
But I decided to get clothes organiser from IKEA, so that I can free up the nylon baskets for my trolley.
Love it that the height of my drawers are a perfect fit for these organisers.
I packed away some of the newly bought bodysuits! CAUSE I GOT HAND ME DOWNS.
Shall sell the brand new one away if I don’t use them in the end. I have more than enough to last, I hope.
But it’s always good to prepare more in advance.
No one got time to go out and buy baby clothes. Lol. 😂
Beside, my theory above is logical right?! Why should not be so hard on ourselves, really. Haha.
My big brother also gave me his car seat, cause theminieng has outgrown it!
But this car seat doesn’t come with isofix.
And XX is very concerned.
While I have since washed it, XX had already researched on a car seat with isofix.
So perhaps I will sell this away! Haha.
My brother got this as a hand me down, which theminieng refused to stay inside. LOL.
He says thankfully he didn’t buy this. HAHAHA.
I hope 👧🏻 can rest in here!
