And I finally realised why I decided to stick to the woodland theme.
Did anyone realise that a woodland theme is actually very “Muji”.
It’s mostly in shades of brown and grey. No wonder I fell in love with it.
Look at the Woodland animals and the colours. LOL!
I took a break from stitching and decided to work on my woodland animals.
I printed these animals on A4 paper and sent them to my cameo silhouette to cut.
Isn’t these pretty!
My woodland animals are so cute.
Aren’t them in shades of browns and greys? Haha.
Let me Dayre this down in case I forget how to do it.
1️⃣ You have to purchase high quality image files from Taobao.
Search for “PNG 图片素材”
These files will not be pixelated when enlarged. It gives a much better finishing in your final product.
And really, there’s LOTS of pretty files for you to choose from. Most Pinterest images can be found at Taobao.
If you are interested with pretty fonts, you can also purchase them from Taobao. 😂
Just leave your email address for the seller to email you the download links.
My files only cost $0.78 sgd. 😂
I did it previously for my wedding!
2️⃣ Download 百度网盘
It’s like iCloud, in chinese version.
Basic (and free) account has a 5gb memory space.
Register for an account.
An OTP will be sent to your Singapore hp number to register for the account.
You can use your gmail account to sign up!
Unfortunately you are required to read basic Chinese if you wanna sign up for this. There’s no Google translation. 😂
The software was downloaded into my laptop.
1️⃣ After you paid for the files, the seller will send you a link with a password.
2️⃣ Sign in to 百度网盘
3️⃣ Download the files. It’s called 下载。
4️⃣ (this could be a setting I made 3 years ago and I forgot how I did it) After I clicked 下载， the files will be downloaded into a separate folder in my laptop drive. Rofl. You may have to play with the settings.
Or can just copy the files and paste them to the desktop if the files have been successfully uploaded to the cloud. (I hope) 😂
After you have downloaded them successfully, you will see the files you purchased!
These files doesn’t come with background.
So it’s good for you to use in photoshop as well.
Here’s a CHEAP hack for you to try.
I did this using Microsoft.
Just insert the image, and type the words you want.
(Find free fonts online if you wish!)
❇️ I used a inkjet 5 cartridges printer from Canon. Cost me less than $200.
❇️ I print using white paper cardstock (harder/thicker papers)
See, your poster is done!!!
The following will probably not be applicable to most of you.
But I shall record it down, so I won’t forget my mistake in future.
The greatest heartache I have when using my cameo silhouette is realising my machine didn’t cut according to my cut files.
Depressed and frustrated.
I sent a distress message to Janice for help. LMAO.
Despite my images within the print and cut borders, and that the machine managed to register the registration marks,
The machine refused to cut according to my image. 😭😭😭
Later Janice realised I selected the wrong registration marks.
It should be Type 1, instead of Type 2.
❎ The top left should NOT be a inverted L.
✅ IT SHOULD BE A TINY BOX.
1️⃣ Set up registration marks. Select TYPE 1.
2️⃣ Trace the images. Play with high pass filter and threshold settings.
3️⃣ Offset the image.
4️⃣ Click on the red lines image. Right click and select release compound path.
See the tiny box on the top left?
That should be the correct registration marks to keep a lookout for.
The red lines around the image are “cut lines”, where my machine will cut accordingly.
It will ensure a perfect cut, with intricate edges.
Can I just say, I love this video?
The moment you realise your (temperamental) machine did a perfect job. It did not cut out of the printed image. 😍
The sense of relief.
(Oh I didn’t waste paper! 😂)
The proud moment.✌🏻
The delight on your face. 😄
