It DOES look like I'm preggy right? The photo above struck me like a lightning bolt. It was immediately after dinner & my stomach ballooned like a pregnant lady's. I don't want that!!!
Pretty positive people will give up their seat for me in the train 😅
I wanna be like my idol Natasha Oakley leh. You all think I can? I asked the bff this ques & she laughed at me 😭
I've also been following fitness accounts. WOW I WANT THIS LEH!
So I've decided I WILL flatten my tummy! With these approaches:
1) Intermittent Fasting
2) Vitality Challenge
3) YouTube Abs Workout
4) Quit Alcohol
What is Intermittent Fasting?
Intermittent fasting is not a diet! It doesn't change WHAT you eat, but WHEN you eat. The most common method being the 16-8, eating within an 8hr time frame, & fasting for the rest of the 16hrs. (There is a 20-4 method or even 24hr fasting but I can't do that! I think 16-8 works great for me!) 😊
I used to munch on snacks NON-STOP when I watch my tvb dramas, which means my last meal can be as late as 2am. Not anymore. For me, my 8hr time frame starts from 1pm & ends at 9pm.
Whoa, how can you skip breakfast! Isn't breakfast the most important meal of the day?!
Says who? Yes, we've all been bombarded with cereal/milk adverts, messages that emphasizes the importance of breakfast throughout our lives. It is very important... for adolescent & growing children only.
Intermittent Fasting has tons of health benefits.
Science has proven that intermittent fasting will increase your muscle mass, decrease body fat, reduces insulin levels (allow more body fat to be broken down) & increases our metabolic rate by 3-14%. #dayrefitness
I didn't know about this fad until this thumbnail lured me in (will put the link below!) when I was searching for abs workout vids on YouTube 😁
How does it work?
When your body is digesting food, it is in the "fed state", which lasts 3-5 hours. When you're in this state, we store food we eat as energy. It is very hard for our body to burn fat becos insulin levels are high.
Approx. 12hrs after your last meal, your body enter what is called a "fasted state". It is in this state that your body tap on inaccessible energy reserves-- which makes burning fats easier.
This is the vid that got me to start on this fasting journey! This YouTuber showcases her day, from the torturous wait for her 1st meal to the end of the day. It's interesting to watch! & I was surprised by how much she ate, which highlights one point:
You eat the same amount of calories you do normally. It is NOT a diet ☝🏼
To understand the science behind Intermittent Fasting, THIS is the vid to watch... & it all makes sense!
People who are on the 少吃多餐 bandwagon, really aren't allowing their body to rest. Their bodies are constantly on the hyper cos with every food intake, their insulin levels spike.
In the presence of insulin, you cannot lose weight. So when you're eating bf-snack-lunch-snack-dinner-snack, your pancreas is constantly pumping out insulin, not so good if it's pumping way more than you need.
It's the hormone that makes you fat, that results in visceral fat (think: belly fat) & churns out stress hormones like cortisol. Visceral fats is the dangerous types of fat that can interfere how your liver functions, can lead to high blood pressure, cholesterol & insulin resistance (beginning of diabetes)
Instead, with Intermittent Fasting, you're eating more calories each meal, with fewer meals in a day (Note: it is NOT about cutting your daily calories intake) = fewer insulin spikes 😉

Ok I shall make it short from here on. So... I've recently started out on this challenge AIA initiates to help people get fitter.
Aim is to walk at least 10,000 steps a day!
Every 10,000 steps give you 50 points & every 12,500 steps give you 100 points.
If you hit 250 points in a week, you get a $5 voucher!
In addition, you can form a team of 8 pax. If all of your team members hit their personal goal in the week, you get an additional $5! Which means $40 a month!
There's Uber, Starbucks & Cold Storage vouchers to choose from. I have $5 promo code off Grab most of the time, I don't drink ultra sweet atas Starbucks coffee, so an auntie like me of cos will choose the supermarket voucher right! 😅
(Actually I dunno if this challenge is doing me more harm than good, cos I'm planning to use all the vouchers on ultra fatty foie gras & delicious Meiji jelly chocolates HAHAHAHA)
YouTube Abs Workout
This is the one I follow & do every 2 mornings (1 rest day in between)... & I really dread them!!
I like this video cos there's no talking. Really hate those workout vids when the lady will be like "Go on! You can do it! Just ten more to go!" 🙄
If I have to play this vid to do the workout everyday I don't wanna be able to memorize what you say!

This has helped save me so much money. I once saw a fb vid that says a glass of 🍷 = 1 hr workout. BULLSHIT!
Previously I really drink at least a glass every night, not becos I believe in the above, but cos I just wanna have something to go with my snack. (Remember? When I'm watching drama I MUST snack, & when I snack I MUST drink something)
A trip to the supermarket will typically costs us $40 on wine & snacks. Hmmm saving at least $40/week on these sounds good!
Now that I don't snack (as much), I don't need to drink. 9pm is when all food intake/sweet drinks strictly STOP ⛔️! I still drink plain water until 5min before bed though

I'm recently following this too- the same Youtuber as the Intermittent Fasting vid. She does talk abit but I like her channel cos both she & her bf are funny 🤣
Also, per exercise is 45s (has rest time of 15s tho) so it really pushes me. When I go back to the previous workout I actually find it easier!
