This post is 12 days overdue but HELLO 2019!
It is quite sad to admit this but I have never been happier to say goodbye to a year. For the most part, 2018 felt like a nightmare that I could not wake up from.
I tried being reflective and think about the things that I am grateful for but the truth is that my mind was clouded by a lot of the painful memories that I am more than ready to let go of.
I remember sharing with my sis once that I felt like I was trapped in a dark room with no windows and everytime I tried to open the door to get out, it was slammed back in my face.
But as cliche as it may sound, my dark dark days are now behind me and I have to say that December was the BEST month of 2018 for me.
And perhaps that was all I needed. A great month to make up for a difficult year.
I had a big change in my lifestyle post eye drama/trauma and it has been nice exploring new parts of SG and staying active.
Not sure what took me this long to visit Henderson Waves but it was such a nice long walk!
Visiting Myanmar with the family was so precious as well.
We have been talking about making this trip happen for more than 5 years now and I am so glad that we finally did.
The people were so incredibly nice, the scenery was beautiful, the food was great...
I am already looking forward to visiting other parts of Myanmar in the future!
This was us swimming in the pool by the lake in Bagan and watching the sunset. The adults were freezing but the kids were overjoyed.
And no prizes for guessing where I got my love for taking photos from 😂.
December was also when I got introduced to a whole new world of board games.
Perhaps it comes with age but staying in to play board games is a lot more appealing than going out!
My friends also thought it was a great idea to roast a whole pig for our Christmas bbq.
Let's just say, I didn't feel like eating pork for awhile after that😂.
I also overindulged in truffle chips in December thanks to the promo code shared by Butterball.
It turned out to be a great snack to gift and also bring to different parties during the festive period. It was a hit with everyone who tried it!
December was a month filled many gatherings and perhaps this was one of the most spontaneous yet memorable meet ups.
It was also when I learnt that I was not good at flossing. I can't keep up with the times!
The Lee Familee Christmas gathering has also expanded significantly and having everyone together just warms my heart❤. Pretty sure our family is just going to keep growing and maybe one day we might not be able to squeeze into one frame.
Here's to beginning a brand new year with a renewed sense of hope and trusting that God will make all things beautiful in His time.
Bring it on 2019!
