Outing! We had to start early because the kids woke up early. By noon, they will be cranky. 😭
We are here at the butterfly park and insect kingdom. Since we are on the topic of insects, it's better that they see the real stuff.
This is the part that fascinated us the most. Here this butterfly has to wait for its wings to dry and harden before that can move slowly, and then beat faster and faster and then flutters up, just like what we have read.
Butterfly pulling itself out. Head and legs appear first.
This mama here is rather intrigued.
This girl too.
Iguana! The kids were scared stiff.
Trying to muster up the courage to say 'hello!".
Went into the insect kingdom which is a scary place for didi.
Leaf insect. I've never seen this before. The other day, I was showing F the three parts card for insects and we came across this and I really wanted to see this in person. And today I did. Looks like a leaf all right.
Wanted to touch...
... but in the end still terrified. We also saw the stick insect.
👨🏻 where is Asia?
In comparison, I think the butterfly park at Science centre has many more butterflies than this one at Sentosa.
👨🏻Want to pat the tiger?
Conversation with the hubs over today's outing...
👩🏻 I'm so exited! We are going to the butterfly park tmr!
👨🏻Actually, if I open the fridge door, you can also see butterfly.
👨🏻I take a butter and then throw it. Then you will see a butter fly loh...
Wah... tmr is school reopening and I'm quite exhausted. Oh oh!
These two, really sapped our energy. The little one has so many episodes of meltdowns that I just give up for today. Let the husband handle. I need to conserve my energy.
The June hols have come to an end. So fast. I actually like school hols because I can do a fair bit of stuff with the kids, go out with them and meet up with friends. Thankful that the hubs took two days off the first two weeks to help else I would have collapsed. It's most needed because the boy has major meltdowns outside (he can scream until the entire floor can hear him) and it's really very trying to bring him out. Still trying to figure him out. 😤
The girl came out into the kitchen when she was supposed to be in bed, told me, "Mama, tmr after the xxx, I don't go to school okay? I will forget the words!"
She has spelling tomorrow and I think deep down she's afraid she cannot spell all the words. I didn't teach her much, just gave her the spelling once or twice and she could but I guess it's the stress that got to her.
And I had to assure her that I value her effort more than her results. I can say that now that she's in preschool.
What if she's in primary school? I hope i will continue to say the same thing to her. 😅
