Healthy Smoothie Blends! 🍹

What's one of our biggest budget weaknesses? Fancy smoothies. This is especially so in Singapore’s hot weather, it is hard to resist a cool cup of fruity-frosty beverage bliss.
Ordering our favorite blend is so fast and easy that we tend to forget how much those costs can accumulate over time. Ranging anywhere from $6 to $10, these sweet sips can end up running up to a whopping total of $70 a week (if you're a smoothie-a-day type of person).

But instead of quitting cold turkey, why not try an alternative method: making your own blend at home and more importantly, retaining an extra $21 to $24 dollars a week.
Read on for some tasty smoothie recipe inspiration to get you going for your day! P.S. I promise there won’t be any complicated steps or ingredients. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

#1 Strawberry yogurt smoothie πŸ“

This refreshing strawberry yogurt smoothie takes only a few minutes to prepare, and is ideal as a nourishing start to the day.

Ingredients:
Serves 2
1/2 cup milk of choice (plain milk/almond milk, you choose!)
1 cup Greek Yogurt
1 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup fresh orange juice (this is the secret ingredient!)
A little honey, maple syrup or sugar to sweeten (it’s optional, the fruit provides enough.)

Place all the ingredients into your high-speed blender and blend for around 30-45 seconds or until nice and smooth.

Why Greek Yougurt? πŸ€”
It is a great option for getting more protein into your diet without the help of protein powder supplement. It’s rich in beneficial bacteria or probiotics.

It aids proper digestion, assimilation of nutrients, and immune system functioning.
Strawberries are loaded with antioxidants (high in vitamin C) and their nutrient profile leads to the following health benefits: boost your immunity, good for your eyes, anti-inflammatory, blood pressure regulator, and good for your skin. 😊

This smoothie is nice and filling, gives you that sweet tangy taste you are looking for. Great as a breakfast solution! πŸ₯›πŸ³
Moving on, satisfy your CHOCOLATE craving with the next smoothie recipe...🍩🍫

#2 Energizing Banana & dark chocolate smoothie🍌🍫

Ingredients
Serves 1
1 frozen banana
30 g of dark chocolate (with at least 70% cocoa is healthiest)
½ cup milk
4 to 6 ice cubes
Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.

Dark chocolate has a variety of powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants help to get rid of free radicals, thereby preventing cell damage and lowering blood pressure. Theobromine, responsible for the bitter taste in cacao, acts as a weak caffeine. β˜•οΈ
The other star ingredient in the smoothie, bananas, is a better-known source of healthy nutrients. They are widely hailed as a good supply of potassium, which keeps energy levels up and electrolytes replenished. πŸ’πŸΌ

The mighty vitamin B6 found in bananas not only aids mood lifting, it also adds to your daily fiber requirement. βœ”οΈ
Sounds good, right? πŸ‘πŸ»Go ahead and indulge with this naturally sweet chocolate banana smoothie! 😌I am excited for you guys to try this one out already!

#3 A BERRY GOOD SMOOTHIE !

Now Now…this one is full of antioxidants and vitamin C from all the berries and fresh kiwi. Did you know that one kiwi has over 100% of the recommended daily value of vitamin C? 🍊And it has a rare form of vitamin E that’s fat-free. The three types of berries are also excellent for immunity as they are loaded with antioxidants. The darker the berries, the more antioxidants they contain! ✨

The creamy, satisfying chocolate banana smoothie is a great way to curb those sweet cravings and those coffee cravings of yours in the mid-afternoon, providing you with a much more stable and long-lasting source of energy. It works well for a quick pre/post-workout boost too. πŸ’ͺ🏻

INGREDIENTS
1 cup frozen strawberries
3/4 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
2 kiwifruits peeled and sliced
1 cup orange juice (for added vitamin C!)

1. Place the frozen berries in the blender and let them thaw for a while.
2. Add the kiwifruit and the orange juice and blend on high until smooth.
3. Top with more kiwi or berries if desired.

A cup of clean light tea for breakfast is also a great alternative to a smoothie. Here we have Lennox Garcinia Cambogia Chrysanthemum Tea recommended by @aggylow. This aromatic tea not only blocks fat absorption, but also makes you feel fuller so that you can eat lesser. For those on a diet, this is a good alternative to invest it. 🀠

Here’s how @aggylow’s breakfast looks like on most days.

“I do feel an increase in my body's metabolism and it's just tea, it doesn't cause any side effects for me and it's not of any hassle for me since I just drink this while having my breakfast every morning!” -aggylow

Smoothies are a great way of making a quick and easy breakfast or as a snack that you can take with you. All you need to do is throw it all in a blender, as long as you’ve got the ingredients handy. Well there are endless variations to what you can add to your smoothies, so get creative and create your very own smoothie! πŸ¦„Most importantly, it is budget friendly! πŸ€‘

That’s all I have for this week’s Dayre! πŸ™‹πŸ»Greet your weekends with these healthy yummy smoothies, and I guarantee your day to be as smooth as it. Happy Blending! 😁

Yours socially,
Yvonne
