I'm backkkkkk with a new addition to the reviews part of the #dayrebeauty archives!
Hopefully my posts help those new to #Colourpop or anyone who is looking to explore new colours! 🙆🏻
Ok, let's go! 가자!
Lippie Stix : RAYEzor 💄
As usual, above pic is that of my bare lips with only lip balm + lippie stix primer!
(Btw, Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy lip balm is amazing. I applied it before applying all these colours and it really helped pump my lips with ample moisture! 👍🏻 smells good too)
Back to RAYEzor! 👄
It's a collab between YouTuber, itsmyrayeraye, and Colourpop! Hence the cute name 😹
Truth be told, I DIDN'T ORDER THIS 🙊
Colourpop sent an additional one by mistake (I think..?) and I just took it as a gift since I did order 72 items from them and many more before that 🙊😂
Its said to be a peachy nude in a matte finish and surprise, surprise! It's looks exactly as described, on my lips too 😌🎉
No difference in formula from normal Lippie Stix with matte finishes. It does transfer but most of the colour still remains on my lips 👍🏻
It's an even better everyday colour for me, compared to Brink, because it's slighter lighter in colour! That does help brighten my face quite a bit 😍
The peachy undertones in this lip colour definitely helps create the Korean dewy, fresh look that's still very much in trend 💁🏻✨
Lippie Stix : Polite Society 💄
Another collab between Jamie King x Colourpop!
There wasn't much swatches of this colour when I ordered this, because it only just went live! So I guess you could say I bought it without really know how it would turn out hahaha
Well... If you thought RAYEzor was too peachy for you, then you better avoid Polite Society because it's a solid peach colour 🍑
I don't have anything against the peachy orange colour, just that it doesn't really suit me. Or so I thought.
On my first try, I really disliked it because it made my lips look really odd and I looked.. ill? 😂
I felt I couldn't pull off the whole "Korean look" without some pink undertones in the colour.
But I guess the colour started to grow on me and I realized all I needed was more blush to balance out the lack of a healthy, rosy colour on my face 😅
Here's my successful pairing of Polite Society when I was at Montigo ☺️
And just a note, you might need to apply a few layers on your lips for the colour to come through vividly. But if you want to keep it light, one is just fine 😉👌🏻
Lippie Stix : Topanga 💄
This is my first Lippie Stix that comes in a Satin finish, and after using it, it's safe to say it's not gonna be my last!!! 😍
This colour glides on really easily and it is
Just one layer is enough for the colour to come through.
Because of its satin finish, it's feels more moisturizing on my lips even after prolonged wear.
Wore it on my first day to Montigo and there was ZERO discomfort at all. Almost forgot I was wearing it #truestory 💁🏻
It's supposed to be a mid-tone dusty coral shade, but on me it's a BRIGHT CORAL as you can see hahaha 😂
No matter because I am in love with it! 😍
It's vibrant without being over the top, and it can be a good everyday colour too. Reds are a little too dressy sometimes, so this is a good alternative 😌
Very pigmented ✔️
It's also one of the more popular colours ordered during my pre-order! ☺️ I know why hehe 😏
Ultra Satin Lip : Magic Wand 💄
First time trying the Ultra Satin range and I must say, I do like it!
The formula is as fluid as the UML range but the finish is perfect for those who cannot stand the dryness of the UML. It goes on smoothly with the doe foot applicator.
It dries to a creme-like finish and it still transfers upon contact, but it doesn't take away too much of the product from your lips.
When you smack your lips together, it doesn't streak either so that's 👍🏻!
So that's a rough idea how the USL is like!
Magic Wand is a light nude and looks very similar on me like how it is on most people! 👄
You probably can use this colour when you have heavier eye makeup, so that the focus on your face is balanced!
But that said, I hardly wear heavy makeup and I still look alright with this colour on. Just put more blush I guess! ☺️ that seems to be my solution to everything hahaha
I'll share a head shot tomorrow! Forgot to snap one when I wore this out oops 😅
Wearing Magic Wand! 💋
Need more blush, as usual! Else I'll look a little too washed out.
Ultra Satin Lip : Echo Park 💄
Hot favourite in da house! 🔥
Echo Park is said to be yet another peachy nude but... it looks more pinkish on me?
Like light raspberry or fruit punch, kinda colour! 😂 It's always easier to use fruits to describe colour yeah 😋
Easy application, like Magic Wand but doesn't stay as well on my lips. Maybe it's because it's so similar to my lip colour that I can't tell if it's still there or not hahaha
💋 Completes a sweet look!
Maybe the natural redness in my lips enhances the pink pigments (? HAHA) in the formula which makes it look very raspberry on my lips.
I think we can gather by now that Colourpop colours always look different on most people, so give this a try ok! I think you'll love it no matter now pink or peachy it turns out ☺️
I don't think anyone can hate this colour! ❤️
Ultra Satin Lip : Frick N Frack 💄
Frick N Frack is supposed to be a rosy terracotta and like Bumble (which was supposed to a warm terracotta too), it didn't turn out terracotta-like at all 😂
It's more like a deep rich burgundy on moi lips 👄
It gets much darker as time passes and it becomes like this..
It becomes even darker than when i first applied, and I felt that that was dark already!! 😦
But ah well, at least it makes me look x10 fairer and my teeth look instantly whiter too 😁
Only difference between Frick N Frack and the other two USL colours is that consistency is not as fluid.
It's actually pretty thick like a chocolate mousse kinda consistency (again, food helps with description haha).
Not that it's that bad cause it allows me to slower with my strokes and minimizes the chances of making mistakes.
I always get carried away with my strokes when it comes to the very fluid formulas.
Maybe that's why they made it different, aye? 💁🏻
Ultra Matte Lip : Midi 💄
Okay I was REALLY excited for this colour because it was beautiful on so many girls! I was hoping it would be as pale but beautiful on me but alas, life does not always go the way we want...
In short, this colour looks terrible on me.
It's almost like a pink greige (grey beige) which just makes me look awfully dull overall.
I think it's because I need to be more dramatic with other parts of my face to complement the lack of bright colour on my lips but I just ain't that good yet 😅
Originally, when I applied Midi I looked really ghastly and pale overall. Even with my normal everyday makeup on 😰
But with @mellllllllll's advice and idea, I tried to make the colour work for me by lining my lips with Etude's rose lipliner first before applying Midi over.
It looked a little better for sure, but it also dried out my lips x2 faster 😞 I guess I haven't worked out the best way to use Midi but it's a start!
And that's all for my brief #colourpop review!
I've amassed quite a few colours in just a few months so here's the overall swatches for all the colours I own!
Their colours are reflected best in this pic so you can take a look here and shortlist your next few colours! 😌
My next review will be of the matte X colours and some face products from Colourpop so... Till the next #dayrebeauty review lovelies 💕
