Before my memory of my recent Penang trip gets hazy... here’s me trying to play catch up!
First day’s dinner was spent over at Chulia Street! It was one of the places recommended by our grab driver from the airport.
He told us to skip Pulau Tikus because it’s overly touristy now so here we went! Oh and btw grab is very affordable and reliable here, so just confidently grab everywhere.
I had only googled about this place an hour before, so I was relying on a few food blogs to know where to order food from 😹
This was one of them!
Queue was long and very chaotic, only because the regular/locals were cutting the queue from the other side 🤨
My sis and I were unaware of this until the tourist before us voiced it out to the stall owner and she finally paid attention to the snaking queue in front of her 😅
The assam laksa was not bad, but I think it wasn’t as fantastic as we had it cold (because of the WTM wait! 😪)
Wanton mee wise... LOVED IT.
Noodles were freaking springy and the sauce accompanied the noodles very well. It was so good that we were almost tempted to queue for another portion.
Until we went back and saw the long queue again and were like NOPE NVM 😂
CKT was wonderful ✨ my sisters loved it so much because it had just the right amount of wok hei and it was spicy! Mmmm so good.
Didn’t try it with the duck egg, as recommended by most, because my sis didn’t want to. Regretsssss. Heard it would be x10 better!

Only have time to doll up and do my hair so nicely whenever I’m on a holiday 😹😹
Btw that was my lash lift from Lash Up about 2 months after it was done. INSANE RIGHT? Still so well curled and obvious like I applied mascara or something 😍
Dim sum for breakfast! 🥟
Another Google find - Leong Kee Tim Sum!
You head to the front of the shop where all the dimsum is and place your order with the staff!
We got a little carried away... 🙊
Picked a little of everything to try!
Doesn’t look like a lot once placed apart, right? 😂🙈
The best dim sum were the fried items, which reminded me a lot of 126 dim sum at Geylang.
We also ordered their 流沙包 because I was craving for it 😂
Didn’t disappoint! The salted egg yolk was flowing out of the bun like a river hahaha only wish the bun itself was more fluffy. Got a little too jelat after chewing for a bit ☹️
We intended for the day to be a cafe-hopping one but somehow, such plans never pan out the way we want 😂
So full when we went over to Norm but we still ended up ordering a drink each and sharing a dessert. Say whaaaat
Thank you Google for the intro 😍
This cafe is gorgeous!
High ceilings and ample of natural light ✨
I would work here if I lived here!
A really gorgeous and refreshing soda for my sisters 🍊✨
Didn’t know what to drink so I panicked and ordered an iced mocha 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Turned out to be a good choice!
Tiramisu to share because it was my eldest sister’s birthday that day whoop. Whatever she wants, she gets (well, mostly lol)
Damn, we were so full from breakfast but this was too good to pass on.
Light, flavourful balance between the alcohol and espresso... i wished the portion was bigger after we were done 🙇🏻♀️
A must-try if you’re there!
And yes, I have two older sisters, in case you didn’t know 😛 people always seem surprised whenever I mention that I have another sister hahaha
Peering in 〰️
We intended to visit China House as our second cafe stop but the grab driver dropped us right in front of Sixth Sense which was a pleasant surprise because @charlottewangwang recommended this place! ☺️
Everything looks suh cool
I think we spent over an hour here just looking at every single thing that was on sale/display
A pity though, I could tell that most of the items were from Taobao so the prices (even in RM) didn’t really justify the quality (some of it was really lacking)
Was so tempted by these magazines tho!! Damn niceee
I didn’t buy anything but my sisters couldn’t resist it! They bought something each 🌝
