Work + Skillshare

Deliveries πŸ™ŒπŸ»

When everyone keeps harping McGriddles and you have not ate it before and FOMO

Ordered it last week and I was shook at the burger patty hahahha it was nice I get the hype now πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️

PSA great food at a reasonable price!

Was feeling pretty down today cos I sneezed the entire day and felt like crapppp so I wanted something hot warm chinese food and I settled for claypot chicken rice!

I love their soups and they’re reasonably priced at $3.80+/bowl which 2 can share easily due to the size of it.

My new grab food find and I’m so happyyyyy. I was actually damn tempted t order the famous Zhou but there was only 1 porridge option left at night and it was $13.80+/pax πŸ€ͺ

^ picture credit @bbernice for GrabFood codes!

Honestly tmr I’m prolly eating the claypot rice again cos I want a different soup lo (lotus soup tmr since I had sian cai soup today!)

I’m gonna tryyyy cooking next week when things are more settled at work and I can come home abit earlier.

Worth mentioning in my dayre is how... this is my first bus ride this month two weeks ago πŸ˜‚

Wanted to take a breather and sort my thoughts out on recent issues faced at work and decided to head to Sun Plaza before heading back!

Also I have to admit grabbing and being ferried about by Bryan everywhere is a privilege and I have thoroughly abused it.

Couple of wins last week which included us leaving by 6? While the sun was up.

Bryan wanted us to celebrate the progress at office since things have got better.

Couple of things I learned with a few departures and for biz owners to relate

1. No one is indispensable - but there are those w skills that would require you to have backup

2. Get better at firing people instead of being scared? Or rather hoping to understand them & give a second chance waiting out for people to take initiative.

Then again, it takes courage which I really lacked. I wish I could be honest and let go earlier!

That said, I’m glad things turned out the way it is because it is always a learning curve for me while dealing w different situations and interesting to note (and hopefully) deal better w them in future.

My Friend tried to be funny and asked me what happens if half my office left πŸ˜‚

I said - I think I’ll be calm and then promptly move on. Backups, and sorting the situation moving forward πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️

Skillshare

Anyway as I mentioned in Pointer 1 I was a lil fed up cos I dk photoshop in general other than the saved setting Ellysage had to crop photos etc πŸ˜‚

At the same time, I’ve vastly seen the difference in youngsters applying to join a blogshop vs catering cos the latter is less glamourous / interesting la.

I was really amazed and interested in catering I gave up assisting w Paddy Hills to put my all into this back then. I had to choose and yeah I chose what had more potential as a business.

At the same time.. I’ve been saying I wanna learn more things this 2019 and take up classes I’d like to learn.

So I’ve started on Skillshare!

It was really really nice to get started on this and my goal of 2019 has been fixed on 2 main marketing skills I’d like to equip myself with.

There’s really a ton of stuff and really good teachers around. If it helps - I signed on my friend’s referral so my first two months of exploring is free! I’m pretty ready to pay though πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️

What makes this great is I could learn after work, and at my own pace and progress.

(I’m always using it on desktop though? Cos I practise photoshop while watching the videos and also to do the worksheet activity).

Grasping the skills.. heh gonna take me awhile but whatever it takes to make me better at this πŸ’ͺ🏻

Here’s half the list I saved, of which my current priority is on Photoshop.

A few I listen to are not so much learning per say but hoping to get further insights / perspective

Heck - I wish I could freelance and teach people (like them) to start mini side businesses? Hahahahaha I’m lame but I’ve always loved teaching.

If the retail industry or blogshop was doing a lil better I’d hope to do consulting last time in getting factories, distributing to different countries all laid out for them πŸ™‹πŸ»‍

Some I treat like e-books and listen otw to work or back.

So far it’s been.. nice?

I hope this helps whoever who’s been hoping to learn tips and stuff and it does not have to revolve around businesses and photoshop? It’s just my interest.

There’s even bullet journaling tips, how to start, etc - which are stuff my Friend follows which I don’t intend to start cos I suck at doodling and really cannot draw for nuts.

Mm and sharing about Skillshare here as it’s free for the first two months and I’d like to track personal improvements later on..?

It’s not sponsored and I’m paying from my third month onwards (unless anyone of you signs up for the free trial!)

Honestly if anything, I miss SMU marketing classes, projects and competitions 😭

Being a student is greatttt girls plz enjoy it if you’re still studying lol. I’ve taken it for granted (but I do enjoy working)

Okay now let me move on to..

CANVA

The giveaway announcement on IG was done by me! πŸ™‹πŸ»‍♀️

& if you haven’t heard.. we’re hiring!

Customer sales & admin full timers or interns are welcomed!

Located at Admiralty

Apply at sales@onandon.sg with your resume.

(And also to add this graphic was also done by me lol. I’ve also had a lot other designs that I scraped lol but it’s the joy of trying it out yes???)

^ I mostly use desktop cos I’m fiddling after I’m done w emails lol and I finally get why all the #dayrebrides say this is such a good app for invites?

I’d totally use this to design then go print my invites.

That said illustrator and some photoshop still cannot be replicated but omg srsly photoshop files are a pain it’s SO LAGGY

I obviously cannot stand inefficiency in general πŸ˜‚

Okay that’s all for my update cos the next few days are a battlefield and we’ve to beef up on building sales for next month πŸ™ŒπŸ»

#θ¦ζ‹Όζ‰δΌšθ΅’

^ This is my new motto

Always a work in progress

Update: TQ girls for joining skill share via my link 😭 I am still discovering the app as it goes so my 2 hour class this sat is online!
