This is a strategy that I really love to reccomend to parents whenever they ask for suggestions on how to build up their child's oral language. The visual just sums it up. Im not a fan of incorporating synonyms or antonyms until the child has a good foundation of language but...i will admit this visual sums it up!
Im still on my holidays (ok last day 😭) but I thought it will be good if i smash out one more post re language facilitation strategies. Before I go on with expansions and extensions. I thought it will be essential to talk about another strategy 1st.The strategy that I will be talking abt is called incidental teaching. Or what I like to tell parents "teaching by accident"Its a term coined by Hart and Risely in 1975 mainly to work with Asd children but honestly its v benefical for any child
Something to think about. Hopefully if I can I will write about my thoughts re screen time soon. I still owe many posts on language facilitation strategies. Hopefully I can do one nest week! Its the end of term and basically Im in the mad rush of trying to finish all my reports before my holidays start but its not happening. Things keep popping up atm and my reports are still no where near done :(
It's Easter next week and other holidays the following week! Basically i just needed to take 3 days off to have 10 days of holidays!!!
