December 2018 Vacay Round-Up [Part 3]

Continuing and hopefully finishing our December 2018 vacay shenanigans.

So like I mentioned, we decided to change our plans at the last minute. Instead of spending a few days in Edinburgh, D wanted to take us all skiing!!

The only challenge would be to get all the logistics of it sorted, and pray the kids would all cooperate.

We kicked off this day of epic travelling at 8am for a 2.5-hour drive from Aviemore to Edinburgh airport.

Made it!! Snacking at the lounge while waiting for our flight to London.

I cropped off the sleeping Daddy’s head but you get the point. The boys concussed on the hour-long flight.

Whereas this one was like an energizer bunny!!! ED wanted to sit with Daddy, so I got to enjoy the flight with the best kid traveller of all time!

We had to collect our luggage in London City Airport, and then check them back in again for the flight to Zurich. It was another 2 hour wait. Nerves were a bit frayed by then. Kids were pretty exhausted.

But we got on the plane!

And gummy makes everything alright again!!!

Bad photo but it was a screenshot of the IG story vid. After the flight to Zurich, we still had a 2-hour driver to the ski resort. Thankfully, D did not have to drive cos the roads were super dark and we would have taken a long time to find our way anyway.

By the time we got to the resort, both kids were fast asleep.

YAAAAASSSS!! View from our room the next morning!!

I think this trip definitely cemented my kids’ reputation as FANTASTIC travellers.

We had long car rides (2-3 hour), flight changes, with 3 large check-in suitcases, 3 carry-on bags (two of which are theirs), and 2 Yoyos. Coupled with the cold weather, thick jackets, going through security and climbing up and down the stairs from gate to plane to gate (no aerobridges), it’s really not for the faint-hearted.

But hey, there is always a first time for everything, right? Must challenge ourselves every now and then, just to make life more interesting (or difficult heh heh)!

EB was super stoked to see so much snow!

Snow bunnies!

Getting kitted up for skiing lessons. My first time!!

EB with one of her (and Daddy’s) fav instructors at ski school - Marcel! And yes, she was kitted in Frozen wherever possible. Hahaha fitting right?

Didi also had a lot of fun playing in the snow. Jiejie would be in class for 2 hours and he’ll just be walking around, throwing himself in the snow or just...I dun even know!

Aiseh!

Machiam yes.

The scenery though. It’s like out of a postcard!

We bought this snowsuit for ED and this was THE BEST! The snow did not get to his clothes or him and he could dive into the piles of snow all day with no worry or care! Nappy changing was a bit of a pain but just take the whole thing off la!

Everyday...

Is...

Snow Day!!!

And it’s true what they say. It’s not really that cold when it is snowing. Although the temperatures were under 0, it didn’t feel as cold.

I dunno what they were doing but they did a lot of this.

Toboggan!!!

Snow merry go round! Hahaha ζˆ‘ι•ΏδΈε€§!

EB on the “Magic Carpet” aka conveyor belt to go up the baby slopes at ski school. I was using those slopes too. Hahaha that’s why can take photo!

His boss also used the conveyor belt but for toboggan rides. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The great thing about this hotel we were at was that they had the ski rental right at the ground floor, with cabinets that are indicated with your room number. So you could kit up or remove the ski kits and leave them in there to store and dry before the next day. The ski school is just opposite and becos of the way the resort is run and located, no vehicles are allowed up there. You literally ski your way around (ski lifts are around) or just walk. It’s very safe and very convenient!

Our package is a room and half-board aka breakfast and dinner is provided. This was my appetiser one night.

Food was super yummy and service excellent. We could order special orders for the kids. Like my kids - rice and soup all day err daaaaay.

This was a special Austrian dessert. Cannot remember the name but looks like a giant meringue!

After serving.

After 4 nights, it was time to leave. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return and for a much longer stay! Taking the cable car down to the town for our ride to the airport.

Goodbye beautiful snow and mountains!!!

Made it into the car! πŸ‘πŸ»

And...

KO!

Sat with this fella on the flight back, and he binged on oranges.
