Still feels like a dream.
We wanted our wedding to involve our friends, and to use as few external vendors as possible so that it would be more personal. For our pre-wedding photos, we had two different friends shoot for us.
The first shoot was a really casual one at IKEA Tampines. Ben's parents stay nearby and we'd often hang out at IKEA (free parking and 50 cent ice cream!) even long before we had our own home. So we thought it'd be meaningful to shoot there.
The second shoot locations were chosen by Ben. He wanted to go to places that might not exist by the time our kids grow up, to capture a bit of Singapore's history as it now stands.
I wore my grandmother's peranakan kebaya and slippers as one of the outfits, and liked it so much I decided to re-wear it for our tea ceremony as well!
Since we didn't have an "official" pre-wed shoot, nor did we sign up for any studio package, we didn't have any large photo prints or photo albums.
Ben had the idea of doing a magazine style book instead, with a soft cover and text inside to tell the story of us. I found a really good offer on photobook Singapore ($25 for 3) and so, our wedding magazine was born!

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
1 Corinthians 13:12
As we start a new chapter of our lives together, we pen down these memories to testify of the grace poured out in our lives, lest we forget. May we journey in our marriage towards the future glory that is to come.
Thank you for being a part of our lives.
the story of how we were first acquainted, in junior college
and how we met again many years later, on a trip in Europe with mutual friends
of returning to Singapore and our growing friendship
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
and when God showed us the time was right.
The time had come to start a new chapter: their lives, together.
Each step they walked further,
made them a little surer,
that this journey together,
with Christ as the centre,
would last a little longer.
Today, we enter into the sacred covenant of marriage, confident that His grace is sufficient. We look forward to witnessing His hand in our lives as we journey onward together and avail our lives to His purposes.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18
Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear if you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel.
living in our new home
Living in a new place has been... it still feels like I'm on holiday most days.
Although, setting up a new home is so tiring! 😥
There are endless chores to be done, things to pack / unpack, essentials to buy, and things to discover about how each of us likes things to be done. It's been exhausting, but also fun to be doing all these things together as a couple!
I've been trying to organise our kitchen and have made multiple trips to Daiso to get boxes and such.
Under the sink, I have everything in baskets / boxes and sorted according to type. The tension rod can't hold much weight 😅 so I can only hang cleaning brushes on it now.
Also I need another basket for the magic clean bottles!
I bought a pack of 40 microfibre towels from Amazon a while back. They work great! We took out 5 or so for our present use and I vacuum packed the rest into vacuum-pack bags (also from Daiso).
We also keep extra sponges, magic sponges and small cleaning brushes in the basket on the door. This was an easy "hack" with 3M command hooks and a basket from Daiso!
Wooden boards from taobao arrived shortly after we got back from Bali. We've coated them with a few layers of wood oil which has turned them a nice colour.
Types of salt and vanilla
And muji-like bottles from taobao!
The stickers they came with didn't have an appropriate tag for dishwashing liquid, and the best we could find was the one that says "washing liquid" in English.
If you look closely though, the Chinese characters read 洗衣液, which means laundry detergent! 😂😂😂
