I write for my husband to read

the one offs

Some time back, I had a good conversation with a friend about our spending/savings rate. Our spending profiles were vastly different. He has a newborn son and obviously expenses were high in that regard. I have no liabilities as I don't own my own home and have no dependents. So we got to talking about monthly expenses, and his was higher than usual (new born baby and all) so he said something like, "yeah but all these are one off. Doesn't really count into my spending rate."

honeymoon planning

So I know it's December already and I SHOULD be posting about my finances. However I'm a bit reluctant because my credit cards still have pending purchases that have not shown up.And also because I spent more than 4k this month wahahaha. It's not because I splurged on unnecessary stuff or anything like that la. It's just that with Black Friday and us having decided on our honeymoon, we went ahead to purchase flight tickets and make hotel bookings!

I spent $1528 this weekend

So with the weekend closing out, it also concludes the end of this year's 11.11 Singles Day! (Although let's all be real la - there's gonna be Black Friday, Cyber Monday, 12.12, Christmas Sales, New Years Sales). Anything and everything is a reason to have a sale so that people can continue to break shopping records! Here's a list of my acquisitions over this weekend and a sort of After Action Review - what I could have done better to reap more rewards haha.#dayrefinance #dayreshopping

I come with no baggage

Welps. I'm back in Singapore from a short work trip in France but.... MY LUGGAGE ISN'T. πŸ™ƒβ˜ΊοΈβ˜ΊοΈπŸ™ƒ.Where is it you might ask? I dunno. Somewhere in Paris I suppose. Emirates has yet to hear back from the CDG ground staff though, despite it being more than 24H since I reported the loss. French culture, amirite?!?!In all seriousness though, I've only ever heard bad things about CDG (Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris). I've heard of all sort of travel horror stories that centre around CDG.

#dayrefinance oct 2018

It's that time of the month again! I can't believe it's already November 😊😊😊, which means 2019 is coming in just a couple of months.2019 is significant in a lot of ways. It's my "AD" wedding in Spain; it's when D plans to move over; it's when we as well as all my good friends turn 30. So I'm expecting a lot of existential crises type of reflection sessions next year. But in a micro perspective it's time to do my #dayrefinance update for the month of October.
