Day 5: Busan’s Gamcheon Cultural Village!
Started our day two in #busan with a simple but yums hotel brekkie! Ham & egg sandwich as well as teriyaki chicken sandwich, courtesy of the hotel 😋
The mum throughout our trip “come, help me take photo” and she proceeds to posing 😂 haha
Attraction for the day was to Gamcheon Culture Village (감천문화마을)!
🚊Toseong Station, take exit 6 and walk up the bus stop that’s just right outside a hospital.
Hopped on bus 1-1 (shuttle bus-type that says Gamcheon Cultural village on the side of the door), like the bus in green! Because the village is all the way up mountain, only small shuttle buses can get us up there, haha.

Gamcheon is a colorful village located on the foothills of a coastal mountain.
Dubbed the little santorini or machu picchu of Korea, I can understand why this place is a popular attraction in Busan 😍
Morning face....haha. Trying to capture a timelapse of the place with his trusty toy - gimbal 😂
The said timelapse video!
We bought ourselves the map at the entrance of the village for 2000W. This map allow one to collect stamps at the different pit-stops within the village. Once we have collected all the stamps, we will be received a prized Gamcheon Culture Village postcards back at the information center 🤗
A fun activity that allows us to explore the village and keep track on the place we have visited at the same time!
Every corner is very insta-worthy 😍
How cute are the wall murals!
(Here’s at the fehmes photo area among tourists!)
Loving how every walls are beautifully painted!
One of the pitstops for the collection of stamps! 🤗
Don’t look anywhere near the grand budapest hotel haha. But still quite cute anyway!
Guess what we are queuing for?? 🤔
For a photo with little prince!! haha. I also don’t know why we queued up too, but I guess, why not right? Since we are already in Busan 😂
Hehe one with the secretive prince 🤫
And a selfie with him...or her? Why are his features so feminine! haha
Another fehmes mural among tourists!
💡🏡 this was another spot to collect stamps! Hehe
Chanced upon this colorful wall, sooooo pretty! Haha check out the cutie mum 🐥
Gotten another stamp here as well as our 1st postcard 🤗 even though we didn’t not finish our stamps, the ahjumma there kindly gifted us with a postcard, hehe ✌🏻
It was a really hot day with much walking! Gotten ourselves a slushie to quench our thirst 😋
Love the colorful installations everywhere!
The fishes of Gamcheon 🐠
The history behind the iconic patterns within the village 🐠
Finally in front of the camera 😂
Haha check out the tip-toeing 🤣
View from up there! Love how the village look different but still very beautiful in any directions 😍
This was an iconic piece within the village too 😍
This was another pit stop for the stamp collection! I like how they have the stamp collections area at different parts of the village for one to really cover the entire place when you’re there!
And the famed little prince! 🤴
Horrible ian disturbing the ahjumma 😂😂
One of the last few attractions for the day! Gotten our last stamp along this area and decided to head back (because the dark clouds are coming by 😂).
Managed to find our way out and took the shuttle bus back to where we came from!
Check out the dark clouds 😮
We were prolly at Gamcheon for close to 3h? And we were starvinggggg. Settled for this random eatery where the bus dropped us! We chose the place purely because there were more people on the shop (as compared to the rest!), haha
It turns out the eatery was selling beef soup! Hearty beef bone soup 😋
Gotten ourselves giant mandus & 3 bowls of beef soup to share! We learnt our lesson to not over order, haha.
The spicy beef soup which wasn’t that spicy and was our fav among the 3 we ordered!
Good choice to trust the “crowd” in the shop! The hearty soup was definitely yummeh after our long morning of expedition, haha. Headed back to the hotel to rest a bit before we continue to explore Busan!
Headed to the famed BIFF Square for our last night in Busan! Decided to explore the place a bit and have some street food along the way 😋
🚊 Jagalchi Station, Exit 7
First thing first, to look for the fehmes hotteok that’s only available in Busan! The Hotteok in Busan is different as it’s filled with seeds & nuts, unlike the usual sweet brown sugar & cinnamon or the savory japchae.
This shop also sell the cheese hotteok (which Ian decided to try when he return to buy another snack!) and it was SOOOOOO GOOD. No kidding! Hotteok stuffed with mozzarella cheese and brown sugar, was such a bomb & definitely our fav among it all 😋
And we didn’t see it in Seoul, so I think it’s only sold in Busan? Try it if you’re there!! It will definitely not disappoint!!
The ahjumma was sure a pro prepping hotteok! Piping hot pancake that was really yums, mi approve 😋👍🏻
The signature hotteok in Busan: Ssiat Hotteok (씨앗호떡) 😋😋😋
We also walked passed a bread shop...and I could resist getting some freshly baked croissant for our Brekkie 🥐 they are different flavors & my fav was definitely the original and the cream cheese, hehe.
We were pretty undecided with dinner, but eventually settled for Palsaik Samgyupsal (팔색삼겹살) aka 8 Flavor BBQ Pork!
Ain’t a huge fan of pork...so this wasn’t my fav meal! haha. And tbh, you can’t really taste the different flavors as it’s not as distinct? Apparently there are unique flavors like ginseng, curry and herb to name a few. Haha.
Shopped around a bit and headed back for an early night as it was back to Seoul the next day!
A selfie with the boss from Hotel Gray!
The backstory is that the kind boss offered to drive us to the train station because we wanted to call a cab as our luggages were pretty heavy and we didn’t really want to lug our heavy luggages around. He kindly offered us the ride and even made 2 trips (since his boot couldn’t fit all our luggages! 😅)
A super friendly and nice boss who resembles like a Korean host or celebrity yea? Haha. Thank you so much 사장님 ☺️
It’s always heartening to meet kind souls along the way during our travels. #faithinhumanityrestored, haha. This is why I’m constantly reminded to be kind to everyone - to people around me and also to strangers (locals or foreigners) ☺️
Afterall, it’s about paying it forward & passing on the kindness you receive to the people around you.
